Our Aims and Objectives
We are the women of Ireland. It is 2018 and even now, we are not treated as equals.
The inequality in our society is something that we will not tolerate any longer. Enough is enough.
We are coming together, with a common goal, to try to right the wrongs that have been happening in our country for far too long now. Ireland, historically, has a culture of mistreating women - from the Magdalene Laundries to various health scandals of the past including the symphysiotomy scandal, to the lack of choice for women in their own healthcare, to the current scandal with Cervical Check.
Our aim is to stand together, as women both living in Ireland and Irish women outside Ireland and as loved ones of those affected by all the scandals surrounding the women of this country. We are here and we are fighting. Hear us roar.
Vision: For Ireland to be a place where being a woman does not lead to automatically lead to adverse outcomes.
Mission: To facilitate a rights based approach in leading campaigns for gender equality
Goals: To campaign for women’s rights using a rights based, experience led approach
Aims: To support women who have been adversely affected by the actions of this state, currently or historically
Current Campaign Aims
1. Providing the relevant legislation and supporting policy on mandatory disclosure to be implemented in conjunction with an agreed timeline
2. Providing active and independent support to those affected by the scandal, including and not limited to, an immediate point of contact for those affected and a multidisciplinary support team.
We are working towards opening a dialogue with government to progress our equality agenda and to facilitate social change through the empowerment and representation of women.
